Congratulations San Diego for the Ability to Maintain Your Beach Fire Pits
Way to go San Diego city council. You have successfully set a standard by eliminating spending which has resulted in a surplus in your budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
Watch the video here:
For the first time in three years, San Diego will not have to rely on private donations to maintain their 186 beach fire pits.
"Because of the savings from structural reforms and rising revenues, the city of San Diego has a budget surplus of 16.5 million dollars," said Mayor Jerry Sanders. "Were going to use some of this surplus to fully fund the up keep and maintenance of our beach front fire pits."
San Diegos beach fire pits are a popular tourist attraction as well as a contributing factor to the quality of life for residents.

Outdoor Trends are Hot Especially Fire PIts
Fire pits are the latest craze in the world of outdoor living spaces. Fire pits bring an ambiance, coziness and focal point backyard spaces. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, investing in a propane or natural gas fire pit for your home, and then accessorizing the surrounding space with less expensive objects allows homeowners to enjoy the warmth and glow of fire without breaking local burning restriction laws.
Stephanie Grotta, the lead designer for Smith & Hawken, likes the ideas of lanterns, tiki torches, fire pots and copper when it comes to including fire features in your backyard entertainment space. Grotta enjoys the ever-morphing natural patina that copper brings to fire pits. We agree and suggest a copper dome that can be placed over the fire pit to protect it from the weather, add the element of copper into your fire feature and help contain the heat produced.
Fire pits have come a long way in their design as well, from custom built fire pits, to metal and copper sculptures that contain fire. Fire pit design is an art these days and is no longer a bunch of logs tossed into a hole in the ground surrounded by rocks. To see some of these innovations in fire pit design, check out a prior blog we posted "10 Crazy Fire Pit Designs." And for all of your fire pit needs from custom fire pits, to hearths burning systems and more, check us out online.
